Being a sinner doesn't disqualify you it is a prerequisite. 

Being an unbeliever doesn't disqualify you.
None of Jesus' early followers believed.

The invitation to follow is an invitation to relationship (not religion)

Following forces me to focus on where I am rather than where you are not.
