P.S. - We forgot to make sure that the microphone to be used by the people giving their "accounting" was properly routed to the recorder. So, I had to "enhance" the audio in those places. While it is not the best sounding thing in the world, I would encourage you to persevere and listen, there are some real gems that you don't want to miss! I do apologize for the issues, though.

What's Your Bowl of Stew? by Don Campbell
5 Fundamental Truths about Appetites
God created appetites, sin distorted them.
Appetites are never fully and finally satisfied.
Appetites always whisper NOW, never LATER.
Appetites only have “one-word-vocabularies” …MORE.
Your ability or inability to manage your appetites WILL determine the direction of your life.
Most ridiculous trade in History?
Impact Bias and Focalism
Don’t Swear…Reframe the Appetite
Don’t Despise your Future
I must get in the habit of reframing my appetites into the context of God’s will for my life.
Like Esau…we don’t know what God has planned for our future.

Now That You Know These Things... by Don Campbell
The best argument against Christianity is….
This is all an intellectual exercise.
We love to study, argue and debate things that really don’t matter and at the end of the day, we are no different than people who aren’t Christians.
This blank canvas = my life
Paint Supplies = learning/knowledge
1. Paint for Non-Painters (apply with fingers)
2. Paint for Professionals (born a painter)
3. The Latest Technologically advanced paint (internet only)
4. Grandma’s Paint (60 years….good enough for her…)
5. Special Paint – few people will ever find this paint….it is “the one true paint”…MOTPC - members of the paint club
Problem
At the end of years of study of swatches and techniques and colors and gathering all these materials…..the canvas still looks the same.
What has it made it from the CAN to the CANVAS?
“We want to hear more….”
Talking and listening is ALL they did. This is us. If all we do is gather knowledge, then this is us. Very few accepted Jesus because it wasn’t about Jesus, it was about information. Today, this attitude sounds like this: "I just want to go deeper."
It is easier to LEARN something new rather than to APPLY what I already know.
Today this Athenian attitude my sound like this: "I just want to be fed." People do it because it is easier to be fed than to feed yourself
It is easier to LEARN something new than to make yourself APPLY what you know already.
There is no power in the paint
If knowledge doesn’t change me, I gain nothing.
Please understand, I am against EVER LEARNING but NEVER DOING.
The Power is in the Application
Jesus modeled the application first, then He talked about it.
You want to be blessed?
Don’t just talk about it.
DO IT.
LIVE IT.

Forward Motion: Overcoming Complacency by Todd Newsom
If we are to overcome complacency, where do we begin?
- Our personal spiritual walk
- Our focus tends to be on the things of this world.
- Helping people
- Matt 25:34-46
- The church is God’s plan A and there is no plan B.
- Our focus tends to be on the things of this world.
- Engaging our own young adults
- 70% 18-22 y/o
- 35% return by the age of 30
- Deut 6:4-9
- Reaching our community
- Mark 16:15-16
- Only 26% of people in Alabama are in church on any given Sunday.
- A Fortunate cultural trend: Invest & Invite.
Behave Belong Believe Believe Belong Behave
It’s not about taking a giant leap, It’s about taking small steps forward.
