The Altar of Incense by Don Campbell

Psalm 14:2
  • The tradition was to burn the incense in the morning and in the evening (twice a day)
  • The Jews would also pray at these times, thus the burning of the incense came to symbolize the prayers of the worshippers
Revelation 8:2-4
  • Heaven contains the altar of incense and an angel brings the censer in that contains the prayers of all the saints
  • Prayers are a sweet-smelling aroma before the Lord

2 Corinthians 2:14-16
1) Death Redeemed
  • By placing the dead flowers that have been dried in the censer and then placing the coals from the Bronze Altar into the censer, they bring the flowers back to a new life. Death has been redeemed.
  • As we spread the aroma of Christ, we will experience two different reactions. Some will be drawn to the smell (the aroma of life) and others will be repulsed by it (the aroma of death).

Genesis 27:27
2) The Scent of the Son

Communion Thought by Bill Latham

Bill talked about how strangers save lives by donating their blood. It’s important that we give blood to one another so that we can continue in life. How much more important is it that Christ gave His blood for eternal life?

The (Not-So) Terrible Teens by Don Campbell and Todd Newsom

The (Not-So) Terrible Teens
Begin with the End in Mind
Teens

I Timothy 4:12

Be an Example
I Corinthians 11:1

There needs to be a balance with teens and parents in these areas:
  • Fellowship
  • Communication
  • Accountability

Any one or two without the other(s) can lead to results other than that which parents desire for their children.

Ephesians 6:10-13

You can not raise a perfect teen. Therefore, equip your children with the tools they need.

Colossians 3:21
Ephesians 6:4

I Corinthians 15:33
