"Earth's crammed with Heaven and every bush afire with God;
Only he who sees takes off his shoes,
the rest stand around picking blackberries."
Prayer to Pray
Heavenly Father, Teach me to number my days that I might gain a heart of wisdom and fulfill your purpose for my life
Truths about Time
There is a cumulative value to investing small amounts of time over a long period.
Neglect is cumulative as well.
There is no cumulative value in the random things we opt for over the important things.
Redeeming the Time = Cash in your time for something of equal value.
The Days are Evil = The natural flow of culture is evil.
Foolish = to be a person who knows what they ought to do but doesn’t do it.
God has a will for you.
Self-Control = Control yourself.
“Redeem the time because the days are evil.”
“For every thousand hacking at the leaves of evil, there is only one striking at the root”~ Steven Covey
John 13:1-17
Jesus and the Towel
“He now showed them the full extent of His Love."
Imagine this story in a different way. Jesus got up and paid some servant girl to wash the apostles feet. Not the same effect. Peter would not have refused
it wasn’t the foot-washing that was uncommon….it was WHO did it.
Matthew 20:16
“The Last will be First”
How many will get up tomorrow and say, “I want to lose”?
Not in our national DNA
God is not anti-success, he is anti-selfishness
Proverbs 18:12
“Humility before Honor”
all throughout history, God has opposed the proud and given grace to the humble (James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5, Prov. 3:34)
